I just think Gamboa's gone about as far as he's likely to go, in terms of boxing ability. I don't think any trainer can make a big impact at this stage. In fact, trying to force the issue could hurt Yuri.

I have no worries. I think Gamboa is an amazing fighter, regardless of any flaws. Yuri has improved his defecnce and, as in the Ponce bout, he's shown that he can win in a different style. Too bad Gamboa isn't a little younger, I think he's a special talent.
One thing he has improved on has been his recklessness. He still gets wild at time but he has settled down A LOT since he first started.

Yea well, some times you can't help it. We're so few in the sport, we gotta support strong.

Seems like we took over this whole discussion and everyone else gave up.

It is important for you to understand that I have no bias here & I like neither fighter.

But the fact is broner is bigger, stronger & I'm under the opinion that his chin is superior. The only advantage gamboa has is speed & not by much either.
I'm not sure Broner hits harder than Gamboa.

Certainly. I don't deny that I root for my peeps; but I'm not blind, either. I try to be as objective as possible, but I recognize that I might be slightly biased at times. Everyone here is biased in some way, so there's no shame in that.

I think Gamboa has more natural power than Broner, but Adrien's size puts more weight behind his punches.

I like both fighters but I gotta go with Broner on this. Im assuming this fight would take place at 135 and I dont think Yuris chin holds up over 12 rounds. Yuris been dropped by lesser fighters in the past plus his defense if suspect. I think Broner wears him down.

But Gamboa is a more dynamic puncher, his power comes from his speed.

both fighters have advantages and disadvantages in this fight. anyone who doesnt see that is just simply being biased. is it an assured gamboa win? absolutely not. is it an assured broner win? absolutely not. i lean towards gamboa, but broner certainly has more than a shot. he has more than a few advantages over gamboa.

Agreed. Gamboa has more *pop* in his punches. I think that, among equally sized fighters, Yuri hits remarkably hard. If you apply the same criteria to Broner, he probably "only" has above average power. Gamboa's highest division might well be 135, while Adrien can easily fight as a welterweight some day.

If their fight goes to the cards, as it probably would, anything can happen. It's been just nuts nowadays; and Adrien has already benefited from a gift, in my opinion.
