    How to Attract New Fans?

A week ago me and my friends were playing Fight Night and I saw that they could be potential boxing fans, they showed some interest. I'm bored of being the only follower of the sweet science in my age group hahaha so if any of you guys have converted a non-fan into a fight fan, how did you do it? I'm thinking about getting them to watch Castillo-Coralles or any fight by Tyson, Pacman or Roy.

If they watch brilliance like Corrales/Castillo then they will be upset to see that current fights do not compare...boxing is turning into WWE with all the B.S. in it today...fighters that have no heart, little skill, gas out after a few hard rounds and want big money or they are not fighting the best...it is degrading due to the greedy ****s like Arum...in fact,I cannot remember the last good fight TR has put on....smh...

Just make sure they watch the right fights, but I would start by showing them highlight videos like "Heavyweights: The Punchers" on youtube. If that doesn't amke someone want to watch more boxing I don't know what would.

My friends are mma heads so it kinda sucks. It seems like becoming a fan is more of a birth right than something randomly acquired nowadays. My dad got me into it. I guess I'd start by showing Amir Khan fights knowin how sketchy his chin is. Then probably Ortiz next, then some Carl Froch.

          - Boxing back to primetime (non-cable TV) every Saturday
          - Fair Judging and Referee
          - Unified belts and enforced mandatory.

          None of which will happen.

Make an occasion out of it.

Pick a fight that is likely to be slugfest. They probably won't appreciate a chess match for awhile.

Make whatever is your bestest munchies. I usually buy some of those little taqueria tortillas, make some salsa and shred up a smoked pork butt to make tacos out of.

Wash it down with whatever your drink of choice is.

Let the card run an hr or so before you start watching it if you have a dvr so you can skip stuff if needs be.

Tell em' to leave their women at home unless you're sure they're the right kind to become a fan as well.

Do this a few times and maybe you'll convert one or two out of say 4 or 5 buddies.

            Good luck.

That would be a good place to start.

Be Positive About The Sport Of Boxing...IN GENERAL! Just introducing them to "BRAWLERS" is ***in ****** that is why we have so many Disrespectful boxing fans now...because they don't understand exactly what is Boxing or how it works...BRAWLING is just that...BRAWLING but that is "NOT THE WAY YOU SHOULD FIGHT" your suppose to be technically sound, your suppose to keep your guard up, your suppose to TRY AND NOT GET HIT, your suppose to try and STICK AND MOVE, your suppose to use your jab, your suppose to use your footwork, your suppose to roll punches

People BRAWL because they CAN'T do all of those Technical Things that your suppose to do in boxing

People should explain the different styles of boxing instead of just introducing news fans to BRAWLERS and then bashing the Technically Sound Guys who choose to study the sport of boxing and work their a$$es off to try and be COMPLETE FIGHTERS!

Well sure, but unless they started watching pretty young and had their pops,or an uncle, big brother etc. to kind of tell em' when to shut up and pay attention, what's gonna' catch the eye is the big shots where u go OUCH that HAAAD to hurt. I mean if they're old enough to drive over to your house and drink your booze and they're not already a fan, they're gonna' need to see the
brawls to suck em' in. Just my 02.

Besides that, some very skilled fighters get into brawls and those are sweet.
