...YOU don't know ***** about boxing. Numbers don't lie:

    Margarito's record after being caught with plaster: 1 W - 3 L (0 KOs)

His only win came against a nobody named Roberto Garcia, which Cheater couldn't even KO, yet he was able to maul a world-class fighter's face (Cotto) but ONLY in their 1st fight. Oh wait, the GLOVES made all the difference in the rematch and forced Cheater to retire. Yeah ok, gotcha, u dumb*****...

Cotto said it best after winning the rematch: "look at my face now, then look at my face after the 1st fight." big difference in margarito's apparent "power".
yea i remember his face getting re-areanged and with bigger gloves...maybe if he stood ib front on him like a man we wouldve found out more..haha gtfo casual fan

Pac and Mosley are better than Cotto?! We're talking about the same Cotto that defeated Mosley and gave Mayweather his toughest fight, right? Anyways I don't need to argue this becaue Cotto beat Margarito's ass an retired him. The truth is this:

        Margarito's record after the plaster: 1W - 3L (0 KOs)

Pretty strange record for someone that was mauling thru fighters like nothing (Cintron, 1st fight against Cotto). PS Cotto was out-boxing Margarito beautifully for 8/9 rounds in their 1st fight. Margarito begins to land some punches and Cotto's face is rearranged and bleeding thru the nose, eyes and ears? And you have the audacity to say Cotto's face looked the same?

Go blow Margacheato or something, you ain't no boxing fan, just a good l' d!c&r!der...

If by "casual fan" you mean someone that doesn't ignore the facts and appreciates a clean and honest sport, then yes I'm a casual fan.

Don't hate on me when I give credit where credit is due. The truth is I hate seeing Margarito retire too, mainly because I enjoyed seeing him get pounded by 100% of the fighters he faced AFTER he was caught cheating.

So tell me again, you really do think Margarito retired because he wasn't wearing the right sized gloves in the Cotto rematch? So he sees no future in boxing because the gloves made all the difference? Good point you make...trolololol.....

I didn't mention Cotto correct? You're thinking that and not me. Yes Pac is much much much greater than Cotto.

              @ Cotto retiring Marg.

Cotto was not outboxing Margarito. You're one of the idiots that just paid attention to Cotto's punches. You have no idea how pressure fighters work do you? Work the body and when you're in deep waters they break you down.

You're one of the idiots that got butthurt cause he lost. You can't take it like a man still and it's been years since Cotto quit. Get over it kiddo.

Cotto boxed in the rematch just as he did the first 8 rounds in the 1st fight. The only difference was that one man didn't have loaded gloves that night. ...and NO, Cotto's face did NOT look the same, you must be a blind. He wasn't bleeding from his damn ears this time around!

He boxed much more intelligently. Cotto's face was jacked up. I went to go see the fight live dude.

                  Bleeding from his ear...really?

I'm done wasting my time with this moron.

Margarito career really ended after his fight with Pacquiao. Marg received so much damage in that fight that he had to have the opinion of 5 different ophtalmologist and finally the last one contributed to the state of denial that Marg lived duing 13 months (elapsed time between Pac's and Cotto fight). Bob Arum spent a lot of money not only paying the Dr. providing the false illusion of "getting better" for Tony but also in getting the license for the fight at MSG (which was in a brink of being cancelled). Going to the second fight with Cotto, Marg was a handicapped individual who was going to be under extreme scrutiny (as it happened) and it was easy to guess that the fight would be stopped easily (even a 140 or 147 pound boxer could have got the kind of swealling in the damage eye). After Marg's wraps incident against Mosley, some people started to especulate that he probably have used them in the past (which really continues being especulation). Miguel declared that he never would fight again vs. Marg because he didn't want to give a "cheater" the opportunity of making money with him. However, somehow after learning about the big handicap of Marg, Miguel decided to face him again (forgetting his pledge to not allowing a 'criminal' to get money). Cotto also said in numerous occasions that he was going to target that eye and with that he acknowledged the huge advantage that he was having. Leaving alone the false especulation of the wraps, it was obvious that Miguel came to the second fight with a different plan (not only targetting an already damaged eye) but also without allowiing himself to be standing close to the ropes (where Marg had the chance to get him). When the fight was stopped Marg hadn't landed even half of the power punches he did in the first fight (many came mainly in rounds 10-11 in 2007) and there was some damage in Miguel's face suggesting that if Cotto's plan has been the same than before he probably had experienced more punishment. At the end of the fight, Cotto was asked if he felt any difference in Marg's punches and Miguel honestly responded that the difference was the preparation and the strategy/plan that his cuban trainer put into effect. Marg finally has come to accept that his days as boxer are over since every time he could go into a ring would be in enormous disadvantage with that kind of lesion around his eye. There was a report around 2010 where it was estimated that his net worth was around 13 million (USD) mainly coming from investments in restaurants and properties.

I do know how pressure fighters work...like you said: "...they break you down"...but that's kind of tough to do with no plaster though:

                      Margarito's record after the plaster: 1W - 3L (0 KOs)

I was actually a huge Margarito fan...until it was discovered he was cheating. No way in hell I'm backing a cheater. Not in this sport. Anyways Margarito is done, finito, finished, terminado, terminated...and Cotto is still thriving, giving Mayweather his toughest fight, something Margarito could never do, not without plaster at least.
