Its not out the window, the fighters are still only allowed to make contact with that part of the glove even tho those god ugly circles were removed. Slapping is very illegal because theres a tendency of hitting the guy with your wrist, and inside of the glove.

thanks guys so if start at "round 32" it means without a bye 3 wins to get you to "round 4" and assured of the bronze medal, 4 wins to the finals and the 5th for the gold...
