I'll believe it when I see it. Wasnt Floyd on about fighting Winky recently?

At least we get to see the fight, even if it is about 4 years too late. Hopkins has blown his legacy for me, his two best wins were against naturally much smaller guys.

This is what eats me up. After Hopkins beat Tito, he was in his prime and Jones was close to his prime and it was the fight everyone wanted to see but there egos got in the way. It wouldve been one of the biggest fights in history and one of the most hyped ever. These 2 clowns said **** the fans and they pissed it away.

Now its years later, they are both very old, way past there primes, and both coming off many losses but now they will fight eachother and they think that we are idiots and supposed to by it.

I say to all the fans that if they do fight, none of us should order it. I hate that ****. Trying to play us. I still think about how great that fight wouldve been. Once fighters get older and lose then we dont look at them the same and we forget how good they were but at that period in time these 2 guys were awesome and this fight wouldve been history. Both of them clowned and conned there way out of it but now all of asudden they will fight.

It would be like Floyd and Zab not getting the contract worked out and then 5 years later, after they are older, slower, and coming off of multiple losses, then they say they will fight eachother and can get the deal done quick. Do you think we would want to see that crap then?

            Well No Thanks, Ill pass
I disagree. Bernard Hopkins is 100% fully to blame for the fight not happening back after the Trinidad fight. Roy Jones was CLEARLY WITHOUT A SHADOW OF A DOUBT the bigger name. Roy Jones also had the belts. He also had the win over Hopkins already. What did Hopkins have that made him worth 50 percent of the purse? A win against a blown up welterweight? Big ****ing deal.

Jones still had all the cards, and he STILL was willing to go to a 60-40 split, which was ridiculous enough. Hopkins deserved no more than 30 percent of the purse max. And really not even that, it should've been the 75-25 split. It is Hopkins that broke that fight, not Roy Jones. Hopkins didn't really want that fight or he'd have made it. Roy Jones didn't need that fight. He'd already beat Hopkins ass, would have again, will again come March 11th. I respect Jones for taking the high road and standing his ground, not caving to Hopkins' bull**** demand of 50-50.

Now, Hopkins has grown in fame, and Jones has lost 3 fights back to back. So 50-50 now, I can see. I'm looking forward to Jones knocking Hopkins out. If Jones wants to make a big statement, he will.

Hopkins is good at bullying welterweights. Let's see how he does when he's the one moving up in weight. If Jones goes for the knockout and doesn't get it, I'll be surprised. If these two enter into the silent contract of "let's go the distance and give a mediocre show" then it'll definitely go the distance. Regardless, I think Jones will clearly win this fight.

before if that fight happened i would go for Jones winning the fight, but fighting now i am leaning more on Hopkins...

come to think of it i never watched PPV, i am in the middle of the Sahara ...

Dont get me wrong, I completely agree with it being mostly Hopkins fault for being so greedy at the time but dont act like Roy has been such a great fight maker in his career. He has made alot of ****** demands for fights also

yep, Jones wouldn't find a middle ground to fight Dariusz Michalczewski, or anyone that was at the time any kind of so called threat. i guess after watching what happend to the G-Man I would have my guard up to, but still Jones could've made a lot of fights and didn't. thats been the name of the game though lately, guys are fighting for more money outside the ring then fighting for the money inside the ring.

what fighter now a days don't realize is that if you take and make the fights people want to see then the money will follow, because the general public want to see equally matched quality fights, we all do, but fighters want to take on lesser quality opponents and then demand the big money for however they fight.

so when it comes time to fight an opponent the is of higher caliber then the guys that they were fighting, they expect to get 5 times as much money as they were fighting B level fighters. but now both fighters want a cut of the cash and terms can't be met.where as the B level guy is happy getting what he gets, the A level guy wants his fair share and now terms can't be met because the fighters aren't getting what they were when they were fighting lower level guys.

It's Jones, it's Hopkins, DLH, Trinidad, Mayweather, all those guys, and more it's just how it is now.

Jones is no saint, he could've given up a little to make it happen, same with Hopkins, but had the fight been more focused on pride back when it was first disgused, it might have already happend......
