smh, ur missning the point and u are arguing like a a petulant little kid. to become a mega star in boxing u have to be known in one country- the united states. thats how tyson made his millions, thats how oscar made his millions thats how floyd and manny make their millions. they are the biggest stars of this last 20 years. it is very very difficult to become a star in the us if u dont speak english. very difficult. chavez sr was the biggest mexican star of all time, but even his stardom pales in comparison to those guys up there. the same with trinidad, cotto, marquez, etc.

with Chavez SR that was more about weight classes more then anything that's why Tito and Cotto were bigger attraction the PPV Stars are mostly made up by welters and heavyweights
which is why i don't think broner will be a bigger star i don't think he will become a true WW or be very good at that weight
i don't think he has the entire nation of mexico behind him just yet...
true what you said before though, but oscar was big from the start of his pro career. the backstory of a hispanic kid from east la grabbing a gold medal for the US dedicated to his mother's passing, it paved the way for him to be big in the pros. not to mention the big factor of him speaking english.
broner, already have fought in mexico, can do it again and further increase his name and fanbase throughout mexico and latin america. he can even go to the uk. guys like burns, mitchell, rees, and murray, he can go over there and make a bigger name for himself on a larger scale. broner has the potential of being a bigger name internationally is what i mean. not saying it'll happen for sure, but just throwing that idea out there. both can and probably will be huge names for years to come, but i'm just giving out possibilities of what broner can do with his career.
Yeah, he had a sad story at the start of his career, but let's face it, what gave Oscar his fame outside of boxing were his looks. Girls used to go to his fights by themselves lol (no boyfriend or siblings). Canelo's got Broner beat in that respect. Girls go crazy for the guy already.
Sure, Broner's gone to Mexico, but people over there boo'ed him after he beat Litzau because he was boring as hell leading up to the knockout. And when it happened, he danced around like a clown (Mexicans as a culture tend to hate showboating... Jorge Paez Sr being the only exception), and fans boo'ed even harder. Plus Broner's already a PR nightmare for Golden Boy because of his racist twitter rants against Mexicans lol.
As far as being popular in the UK, I'll put my money on the Irish-looking kid capturing more fans than Broner. Same reason Hatton has more fans in the UK than better English-born fighters of other ethnicities.
I voted "Canelo". I don't think Broner will be a big star. The kid is good, but his persona is ahead of his skills. It won't take long after his first couple of losses for people to look elsewhere. He has to maintain a perfect (or nearly perfect) record to maintain interest. Otherwise he'll just look like a clown (which many people already regard him as).
Adrien is a counterfeit version of Floyd. What keeps Mayweather on top is his exceptional ability and record. Broner will never be on his level...ever. Like him or not, Floyd is special. Guys like him don't come along every day. I'll be willing to bet Adrien isn't the second coming.
Alvarez appeals to a wider variety of people. He has the Mexican fan-base, young ladies and whites in his corner. He's good enough, exciting enough and likeable enough to maintain interest even after a few losses. Saul doesn't rely on theatrics to sell himself. His appeal is built in. He'd have to try hard to mess it up.
Couldnt have said it better my self, that fake persona broner plays only works if you are a winner ala mayweather, once he gets that first loss he will become a side note. Can he go undefeated forthe rest of his career? Hell no. While canelo win or lose will still have his fan base no matter what
