Nobody knows for sure. Some people just say its a blind shot it happens. Or cold legs. A state of mind "being caught sleeping" or chin. I think depending on how they react when they get up is a bigger determining factor. I lean more towards a fighter being chinny if it happens often. Some guys need that KD to get into it. Look at guys like Gamboa and JMM who seem to be good examples. No doubt though that it takes extreme conditioning/preparation/b alls to get up off the canvas and fight on.

It depends, if the fighter is visibly shaken after the knockdown I will say their chin caused it. If it is a case of their them being off balance then I'm more inclined to say it is their legs think Cotto v Clottey.

Nothing to do with leg strength, they become rubber when the brain is jarred. Notice how people don't wobble the same dizzy way from body shots.
Now, it's entirely possible to get knocked down from bad footwork and poor form. You'd be shocked just how much even a blocked punch can mess with your balance.

Legs will help you brace for impact for the punches you see coming. Plenty of fighters get hit straight on the chin land on their backside and get up completely fine. It's the punches that you don't see that snap your head to the side that **** you up, you can brace for impact if you see them and take them better.
