Why didn't Pacquiao fight Cotto at 147?

It goes both way floydiot . Why Cotto didn't fight Pac at 140?
Why Floyd didn't fight Hatton and Marquez at 140?

Why a smaller man fighting a big man?
Why a big man fighting a smaller man?

So however you turn upsidedown the question the real in disadvantage here is the smaller man because the bigger man should fight a fighter the size of his own or move up if not the catchweight fight is fair for both side.

Cotto was the champion at 147 and Pacquiao had already fought Dlh at 147 you Pacquiao scrotum buffer.

Incorrect ..... Oscar came in at 145 .... so from your own statement .... 145 is fair since Oscar was 145 and Cotto came in at 145

but Manny went up to fight a WW then down to 138 then back up. Not everyone can do that .... but for you, Manny had the big advantage?

Manny beating Oscar by many of you meant very little anyways since Oscar was drained, right? Due to this question mark, there was still lots of question on whether Manny can really take on a big strong and true WW such as Cotto, Floyd and so on ....

So to you, Manny yo-yoing 130 to 135 to 147 to 140 to 147 to fight meant nothing and was so easy that anyone can do it ... but it was real terrible for him to fight those bigger guys at a CW of a few lbs?

Who had the advantage, Marquez or Floyd? Floyd came down at a CW of 146, since he goes by his own rules as the fight was initially contracted for 144lbs but Marquez was 2 fights removed from moving up 3 divisions?. I'm sure you Floyd fans are all OK with that, hey? .... and the way you talk, if Floyd would have lost, you would be blaming Marquez for asking Floyd to come down, right?

Looking back, Manny would have beat Cotto if it was at 145, 146 or 147. It would NOT have made a difference. Manny was catching Cotto easily .... with those extra 2lbs .... Cotto would still have been getting caught .... and perhaps, it would have been even easier

              • Depends on how you look at things. From a competitive point of view what Ward is doing is far worse. When you consider the impact it will have on their legacy what Pacquiao did was far worse as it is deceptive, at the end of the day Ward isn't fighting for a title, Pacquiao did.

Here, your hero Floyd tells the bigger Martinez to go up and fight bigger guys .... so you see, its not that easy going up divisions to fight the bigger guys.

Also, your hero Floyd, is OK with an older version of Martinez to come down to 154 and there is a video of him saying OK to 150lbs. Like you said about Manny fighting the champ, why can't Floyd fight the champ at the 160 limit if you expect Manny to do the same?

So who is delusional? You Floyd fans want it both ways .... its OK when Floyd says OK to a CW but Manny its a bad thing ..... cool story but I'm NOT buying it!

He fought Diaz at 135, 35 year old Dlh who hadn't fought at ww in what 7-8 years at 147, Cotto the 147 lb ww champ at 145, Hatton at 140, and Margarito at 151.

Don't say it wouldn't have mattered after the fact if Pacquiao had fought Cotto at 145, 146, or 147...he would've beaten him anyway. They fought at a contracted weight of 145 because Cotto wanted a pay day, and imo Cotto had no reserves to fall back on. If two lbs didn't make a difference like you say then Pacquiao would've fought Cotto at 147.

                    • I'm sure I've already posted on this thread but Dawson did not have to fight Ward at 168, he chose to sign the contract. Dawson's title is not on the line, Ward's is.
