Comments Thread For: Keith Thurman Discusses His HBO Debut, The Future

A fighter is either ready for the limelight or he isn’t, regardless of who is standing in the other corner.

Keith Thurman made his HBO debut last Saturday, serving as the chief support to Adrien Broner’s homecoming win over Vicente Escobedo at the U.S. Bank Arena in Cincinnati. While controversy swirled around the main event, Thurman remained as calm as an assassin in taking out late sub Orlando Lora in six rounds in the evening’s televised co-feature.

I'd like 2 c him box any1 credible, which 2 this point h hasn't...Alvarez would crush him...sure he has power &'s strong but it stops there...Kirkland would take him out...

Keith Thurman vs Jesse Vargas would be a fun fight to watch.

I'm not pro Thurman yet I wished Maidana wouldn't have ducked him but he looked good in his HBO debut knocking out that scrub Lora a few more fights against credible WW will tell if one time Thurman is the real deal

My first time seeing him, and liked what i saw. I think he has a lot of work to do from a defense standpoint, but he has good power, and decent speed. Like others have said, lets see him tested.

That's what's up. When you got people avoiding you just stay busy and keep knocking out whoever they put in front of you.

my 3rd time seeing him on that Broner Card, I am Impressed, he shows that he is not some one-dimensional KO Artist like Randell Bailey, he is more versatile, shows some Boxing Skills, some Slickness, he has a Nice Jab, mix up his Punches real well, use the entire ring well, while he probably can just get into a Slug Fest with his opponent and likely WIN...he doesn't do that, he fights smart and he showed me some In Ring IQ during his last fight

I can't blame him for the lower level of competition, he tried to step up the competition but it was Maidana who backed out of the fight

Haymon over the last few months or weeks rather....he has showns that he has some very talented young fighters in Thurman, Garcia and Broner
