Comments Thread For: Sakio Bika Open To Facing Carl Froch in Nottingham Clash

Highly-ranked super-middleweight Sakio Bika has told WBN that his recent offer to fight Adonis Stevenson in an IBF title eliminator came just at the wrong time, leading to him having to turn the chance down.

The former IBO title holder is now looking to return to the ring in the fall after stopping Dyah Davis in ten rounds at the Home Depot Center last month and hopes to secure a fifth world title challenge in the near future.

I hate Bika's style, but would pay to watch Froch fight him. Much prefer Pavlik fight though

Great fight, dunno why you guys wouldnt want to see this. He gave Ward more of a challenge then Froch did.

Plus it's two guys who come to **** leather. A perfect fight.

This would be a step back for Froch. Kessler rematch please.

I'm not the biggest fan of his style but I have the utmost respect for Carl. More than any top tier boxer, Carl's resume for the last 4 1/2 years has dwarfed any boxer.

From 2008 on, he's fought nothing but top flite competition. While I don't think Bika is a soft touch, he's not at the caliber of Carl's previous opposition and he could surely use a soft touch.

              Good job Carl

To Big of a risk for Froch...Bika has given all of the big names headaches and he could do the same to Froch maybe even a chance of beating him.

Bika is basically like a new-age Glen Johnson. He's awkward, hits hard, has a steel chin, never stops coming forward, and despite having an awkward wide open style, is hard to hit cleanly. He gave Calzaghe a hell of a fight. Up until this point, he's the only guy in Ward's entire professional career to actually give him a good scrap. Ward clearly won the fight, but Bika really made Ward earn it. I love Froch, but this would be a very dangerous fight, and it'd be a harder fight then Bute due to Bika's awkward durability.

Bika has also gotten a lot better as a fighter since he fought Calzaghe and Bute as well. Before he fought Ward he looked good against Manfredo, and was looking good against Mendy, and was ready to put him away in the very first round only to get overzealous and hit Mendy while he was down. Bika is right below elite IMO. And, despite Bute beating him years ago, I'd actually favor Bika in a rematch due to the fact I feel Bika's improved since then. I'd give Bika a solid chance to beat anybody in the SMW division except Ward.

This would a great fight though. It'd a fast paced brawl.
