Comments Thread For: Canelo: I'm Preparing For The Most Dangerous Fight

“There are no small fights at this level or small fighters! I’m preparing for the most dangerous fight of my career,” declares Saul “Canelo” Alvarez (40-0-1, 29KOs), the WBC's junior middleweight champion, who on September 15th will defend his title against Josesito Lopez (30-4, 18KOs) at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

lol funny ass ginger.... The funny thing is Josesito actually might have success but will only be belittled as soon as Canelo lands solid, the powers that be will assure themselves the fight does not go longer than they intend it to. Lopez cannot even get hit or GBP is gonna call it a TKO win for Canelo. I can see their justification now "unable to defend himself, Lopez was beaten and battered by Alvarez with crisp, accurate, hard hitting punches and the ref saved him from further damage". In reality, it'll be like a 10 punch combo with Lopez slipping like 6 or 7 punches and him complaining to the ref after he runs in and hugs him.

in all honesty, as Boxing fans, why would we watch this hype job, unaccomplished, yet to prove himself, youngster OVER a devoted, thrown under the bus, first real pay check recipient, Veteran Champion in Sergio Martinez????

and no, I'm not a Martinez ****rider, I'm just not a boxing fan that loves this sport and hates the propaganda shoved down our throats

actually there are small fighters at this level saul, a guy that has only fought once at WW and never before at JMW would be considered a very small opponent for you. this is pretty disgraceful, shame on you golden boy, you represent a couple of fighters in canelo's actual weight class that would make for great fights, james kirkland (a guy who may not be great but would make for a very exciting fight and at least has a chance based on his power), alfredo angulo (same as kirkland), and of course the biggest threat by far erislandy lara (who i think would beat canelo at this point, and for some reason they are doing nothing to promote this guy, build him a fan base, make his a super star, that is what you are supposed to do with guys that have that much talent and potential, i know its not easy but you gotta try to make americans love him). I actually don't blame golden boy for not putting him in the ring with lara at this point, but they should be building a fight between those 2 up, even if it doesnt happen, they should put them on the same cards and represent them as being the 2 best in the division.

As much respect that I gained for Lopez after the tremendous fighting spirit he showed. I realized he persevered against Ortiz who has a history of folding like a tent down the home stretch. Vic overpowered Lopez more times than not throughout that fight, I can't imagine Josesito standing up to Canelo's pressure. GBP is gonna have Canelo looking like a million bucks after this fight, with Josesito's heart and willingness to stand his ground he's gonna give Canelo plenty of highlights.
