Your talking about alphabet soup rankings like they mean anything..... The IBF had Tony Thompson #1 in their rankings recently..... Does that mean the 40 year old was a better fight then say Povetkin or Pulev??? NoOo

People can say whatever they want. But in my eyes, he's doing something right because as the writer indicated, he's basically a prospect and he has the entire boxing world buzzing. I live in Nashville and made the relatively short drive up to Cincy this past weekend to attend the fight. My homeboy flew down from NYC. We sat next to some people who flew in from Wisconsin. And I was told by a cab driver that he had picked up a crew that had come in from Iowa. So this kid already has a fanbase that is willing to travel a long way and shell out pretty good money to see him. I'm a fan of his, but I'm not blind either. I wanna see him step it up. Rios answered his call and doesn't have anything planned. I think that would be an excellent fight for the fall. And if its within driving distance of Nashville, I'll be there.

True. He was all over ESPN, to hardcore boxing fans the weight (at least to me was an issue) but he is clearly doing something right to get casual fans interested in him.

One BIG difference between Broner and Mayweather that stands out to me, is that Broner is looking to take his opponents out and not just looking to ride out a decision.

He doesn't bother to make weight. Doesn't bother making a second agreed upon weight because he failed to make weight the first time. Fights guys like Escobedo and feels he needs a weight advantage. Looks terrible against a chump like DeLeon and then claims to be the best.

Seems HBO has crowned him before he's earned it, Escobedo saved his ass that's for sure, but the talent is definitely there. I think he'll be at 140 before long, while the division is still hot.

escobedo saved himself a payday......broner has been on HBO and still wouldve been on HBO if the fight happened or not...

Well Rios is with Top Rank and Broner is essentially with Golden Boyso we might need a big red x for that suggestion since that fight will never happen.

BTW I love the mention of the Fernando Quintero fight since it was a worse robbery then the Ponce de Leon fight.
