Guzman has a lot to gain by beating the top 10 jr. ww fighters. But the top 10 doesn't have anything to gain by beating Joan.
Really so if Alvarado doesn't fight him he can gladly give his rank to Guzmsn.and if matthysse wants to move up he needs to fight Guzman also so who doesn't gain what?
Guzman aint marketable at this point, perhaps Amir Khan may wanna fight him, but the problem isnt on other boxers but Guzman himself.
Guzman has been calling out khan for over a year.Khan doesn't want it.Guzman is being marketed as lil Tyson again and he's on a knockout streak I'm sure khan will stay away from him.if khan does choose to fight him then great for us fans.
Acquinity better move him up the sanctioning body organization rankings (preferably the IBF because of their strict imposing of mandatories and eliminators); the #2 spot does put him in line for Maidana's recently vacated "regular" title that'd help him get solid opposition, until then, Joan has little leverage.
He simply won't be given anything and will have to settle for these journeymen until he has a bargaining chip (a mandatory position or a title).
