Also, did everyone forget when Guzman came in 9lbs overweight against Funeka in their rematch? Nine f.cuking lbs! Guess what? Funeka went in and fought no problem. We're talking about 3lbs here. Come on. It's not right, but come on now. Like I said come tonight after they've both fully re hydrated they'll be about the same weight, Broner might outweigh Escobedo by 3 or 4 pounds.

I understand Escobedo and his management have to look out for his best interests, but he's being financially compensated and the weight difference is not that bad at all. I don't know, that's just my opinion, I just wanted to see this fight.

Guzman failed to make weight against Campbell. Like Broner did here. They agreed to on with the fight if Guzman will weigh in at certain amount the next day. Like Broner agreed here. Guzman came OVERWEIGHT AGAIN THE NEXT DAY. LIKE BRONER DID HERE. Campbell walked away.

Whatever decision Escobedo makes is the right decision. Whether he walks away or still fights it is his decision and whatever it will be the right one.

If this fight doesn't happen is on Broner, not Escobedo. Broner didn't care enough to make weight either time.

So, Escobedo is now going to be making almost a $100,000 dollars more then Broner, and he still won't do the fight. Wow. I'm sorry but this has turned out to be a damn circus show, a joke.

The guy holds the respect above the money its his call cant hold him at fault.

Escobedo is a Golden Boy fighter. There is always Showtime. Golden Boy undercards and other means. But, if Escobedo gets blackballed for doing the right thing(whatever he decides the right thing is) then there is a bigger problem in the sport.

This is nuts. Jesus H. Christ on an ice rink, what in the HELL is going on?! Fight off, Fight on. Off, on, off, on, off, on. I just want to see Broner that's all. Come fight night either way, they'll be pretty close in size to each other. Broner might weigh 3 or 4 more pounds then Escobedo once they're both completely re-hydrated.

I understand why Escobedo's team is pissed, but they should know come fight night they'll be relatively the same size and there won't be this huge advantage. Not a fight changing advantage at least, if anything Broner will be more debilitated then Escobedo, because I'm telling you, Broner didn't look like he could come down anymore without completely draining himself, he was utterly shredded and ripped to the bone.

Escobedo and his management will be getting a $30,000 compensation, come on, let's just make the damn fight happen. If I'd trained for weeks and weeks for a fight, I wouldn't care if the dude outweighed me by a couple of pounds, I'd just want to make all the training and preparations worth it, not to mention I'd definitely do it if I was getting 30 grand for compensation. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying what happened with Broner was right, it's NOT. BUT, Escobedo will be getting financial compensation added on top of his purse, and he won't be outweighed by much come tonight, let's just make the damn fight.

the fight has always been off. ever since broner failed to make the 10 lb rehydration limit team escobedo has said that they are not fighting.

whether or not they are simply holding out for more money i cannot say. it would not surprise me to see them take the fight for a substantial amount of extra money. i've seen numbers thrown around indicating that they're being offered compensation, but i have not seen them substantiated.


i won't believe a word of any of it until it's fully disclosed and reported by credible members of the media, or more likely until the HBO broadcast begins

exactly. dont forget guzmans rematch with funeka where he missed the weight by like 10 lbs. funeka needed the money and took the fight regardless only to take a loss and never be heard of again.

whats really messed up is he already beat guzman once and got robbed by the judges, second fight guzman buys a HUGE weight advantage and gave him a loss. funeka still was highly competetive in that fight unlike guzman in the first, but ppl forget and all history reports is funeka got a D and an L in two fights with guzman.
