The Weight Diff Is Not THAT Drastic!

Broner knew he had to make 140 this morning. He could've rehydrated six and a half pounds overnight and the rest between the 2nd weigh in and the fight. But he seemed intent on not fighting for some reason.

Hopefully he takes this stuff more seriously at 135 because the dude is extremely talented and I'd hate to see a Guzman type implosion.

I find it incredibly hard to defend the fact that Broner neglected to make weight twice and OP is going around calling Escobedo a pussy because he's not taking the fight.

Escobedo will rehydrate from 130 to about 140. Broner, on the other hand, will have a higher platform to rehydrate (133.5 to 140+). I would estimate that if the fight does go on, Broner will be about 150 on fight night. Seems like a pretty unfair advantage, especially given the fact that it's at a lower weight which makes that much more of a difference.

Broner is wrong for missing weight and not doing what the contract said he had to do. But Escebedo needs to continue and fight. No way in hell im backing out of a fight and not fighting someone cause of 3 pounds

I don't think he will rehydrate too much more past that, unlike Broner who is known to get near 150 in his fights. Either way, I think the difference in pounds is a big deal, especially at these lower weight classes. If I were Escobedo, I would only go through with the fight if I take a bigger chunk of Broner's purse.
