Anyway, even though Canelo should have fought Lara, GBP did try to match him up with some solid names like Williams, Kirkland and Ortiz.
Williams was on his way out.

    Kirkland is another can.

    Ortiz? LOL.

C'mon, admit Chavez has the upper hand at the moment (win or lose against Martinez).

Chavez jr pulled out of the Gomez bout the week of the fight.

Chavez jr got a DUI a 2 weeks before the Rubio fight.

      C'mon Julio.

Chavez is an idiot. I mean, after all the ducking he's been doing from Sergio and now that he's been cornered and forced to fight, he wants to scream on Canelo for taking easy fights, thats pitiful. Although what he says about Canelo is true, he shouldn't be the one who says it.

I tend to agree with Jcc Jr on this one, just because Canelo is 21 doesn't excuse him from fighting top competition or lower weight fighters. If the guy is continually ranked the top 2 or 3 from every major boxing publication than he should be fighting up to his level. I have been saying for years that Canelo's resume pre WBC 154 belt was garbage and since the he be sorry a** Hatton for the belt his resume is littered with a bunch of "recycled names". Jcc Jr at this point has accomplished a little more and has the actual competitive fight lined up on Sept 15th. I'd rather spend my money on a tough, competitive fight than watch a Jr Welter with tons of heart get sacrificed so Canelo can keep his hype train rolling towards an undeserved Floyd fight.

Simply put, the best post in this tread. People keep talking bout ginger's age. Well ginger is supposed to be a champion. But ginger has continuously ducked his entire division. If golden boy was bringing ginger along without calling him a champion, I personally would have to problem with that. Champions don't (step up in class), because they are the class.
