Comments Thread For: Photos: Ricky Hatton Losing A lot of Weight...To Return?

The rumors appear to be true. Former chamion Ricky Hatton is losing slimming down and losing a lot of weight. Besides the weight washing off, Hatton is rumored to be making a comeback. The Manchester superstar has not been inactive since getting knocked out in two rounds by Manny Pacquiao in 2009. Hatton has been back in the gym and training his promotional prospects Ryan Burnett and Adam Little.

That may well be, but you couldn't tell from the photos He looks very pudgy, fat hands enormous thighs etc. Very battered looking, older than 33. It's a good idea to train off the weight, but a bad idea to return to boxing.

I see he has a new tattoo. Would like for Ricky to remain retired, but if he does come back I wish him all the luck in the world.

He should stay away from boxing at the top level if he decides to return, but that ain't gonna happen. He'd still get smashed against the above average fighters.

On the other hand, anybody who slims down to be healthier is definitely a good thing.

Or maybe he realized his fitness calendar is running short and there is a finite amount of time where he can actually get back to being pretty ripped...fighter or not.

Not sure if Hatton could do anything on the comeback trail....

His biggest asset was his energy & his lifestyle between fights ****ed that up. You can't balloon up to 180 pounds & expect to be a 140 fighter.

If he got fit again (which is good) & came back (which might not be good) would he change his style? Not too many can keep up the 'pressure' style in later years. Hatton CAN box but not good enough to be a Welter contender.

I doubt he needs the money. I KNOW he needs the glory (most do).

Can't see him beating Khan or Brook so who? Malignaggi????
