Being televised to the biggest possible audience is a the best way to increase a fan base, that is what GBP and Top Rank do~ if a guy can't run with that ball that is not really the promoters fault but the fighters.
Compare the crowd at this event to the crowds when Rigondeaux and Lara are headlining their own cards. TV viewers aren't everything, you have to build a local fanbase too.

TV viewers are everything as that is where the real money is, it has been that way for more than 50 years. If you can pull on TV you can pull locally because you will be a star that people know~

You don't need a local fan base, the two main stars that played very little in their rise~ however being on HBO benefited them greatly.

Pac benefited from the support of the filipinos and asian americans, you can't deny it. How come GB and TR keep putting on shows with mexican american fighters in the westcoast? Cause they're trying to sell tickets and increase the fighters popularity in that community. Lara and Rigondeaux don't get the same treatment though and they can't even get big fights against the stars in their own stable. They're getting screwed by their promoters, they should leave and build their own fanbase in Florida.

That is not local, did Manny fight in hotbeds of the Philippine or Asian community in America, no he became famous because he got on HBO lit up a big star and continued to be in action packed fights to build a large fan base way beyond just his countrymen and Asians.

Lara and Rigondauex are failures if they can't make it in similar ways that is on them. Going from the major leagues to triple A does not really help them in the big picture.

Let's take Danny Garcia, he has fought in Philadelphia a few times but his Q rating there was not real high. If he goes back, he would probably do a lot better not because he got built in Philadelphia but because he got a huge win in front of a huge audience on HBO.

Did GBP screw Danny Garcia by not really building him in Philadelphia~

At least they gave him a big fight, Lara was not even mentioned as a possible opponent for Canelo and TR is not gonna let Rigondeaux fight Donaire. What's the point of being on HBO if you're fighting scrubs on an undercard? These dudes have P4P talent and are not treated as such.

Are those Cuban's careers over, they need to take advantage of the opportunity when it comes their way if they keep winning and looking good they will get such an opportunity.

It takes a long time to be an overnight success~
