How come HBO did not make "Countdown to Morales-Pacquiao 2"???

They advertised last Saturday that there would be "Countdown to Mosley-Vargas". I was WTF, they skipped Countdown to Morales-Pac II or something.

I think it's either one of these two reasons that they did not make this:

    1) The fight doesn't need any hype OR
    2) Them two FOB's barely speak English and the interviews would suck LOL

Which one do you think is it? I'm still pissed off. It would've been awesome, highlighting Erik and Manny's career and how it all started. ****, Countdown to Mosley-Vargas, WTF. Over the hill and shot fighters need to retire the **** out, and now they're getting more coverage.

I dont know. Maybe they want to advertise the higher divisions more because the lighter guys are clearly dominating the sports right now.. and besides, Vargas and Mosley are HBO's boys.

well, the fight's still not until Jan. 21st, maybe something will turn up.

At least, i'm sure there will be a 1/2 hour preview show before the PPV which should be decent. Still, i agree, i'd like to see an actual "Preview Show" broadcast for this fight. Sometimes, i just don't understand HBO's logic.

this is true, they're two of HBO's "average" fan draws.

I think they subconsciously ignore doing that because of their weight class and because they are foreign fighters. I think that a documentary describing the Barrera-Pac-Morales triangle would be a good idea too. TO be honest though, just replaying the last fight will do more for business than a documentary. Reshowing Mosley-Cruz and Vargas-Castillejo will not increase buys, it will diminish them. Don't get me wrong though, I don't think MOsley is done

I think the countdown usually starts 1 or 2 weeks before the fight.

It's just that they haven't started the all out promotional stuffs. It doesn't need that much effort to promote the fight anyway, because the world wide fans have already been anticipating this.

              Well I agree that

              1) this fight doesnt need any hype, they both have huge fan bases that knew this fight was going on the moment the ink dried on the paper.

Vargas and Mosely really do need a countdown and constant reminders, i for one am not really interested and i will watch it after i download it.
