Of course he thinks he's elite. He's an olympic medalist who has won mulitple titles and is a big celebrity in England.

Whether you think he's elite or not, and most boxers think they are elite cause few people play a sport to be 2nd best, what's that have to do with the fact he's entertaining?

I mean, do you like entertaining fighters or not? If you do then you should like Khan. He's not some terrible person like Mundine or Edwin Valero. He's just a confident, entertaining boxer.

"I'm not pointing any fingers, BUT...."

I'd say that's pointing fingers, alright. It's a little like apologizing by saying "I'm sorry, BUT...". It completely negates the entire first part of the sentence.

Amir Khan is a big mouth and skill wise he is not elite. Maybe accomplishment wise he is something to brag about but all around skill, he is still green in certain aspects but talks like he is perfect. Acting like he has a chance against Mayweather but can't even get past Garcia who everyone thought he was going to beat. Khan should just focus on being more humble towards his opponents and focus on his craft instead of sucking himself off every minute in the press. Garcia pops was talking more than Garcia himself and look how he blasted Khan. Sure he is entertaining because he does come to fight but dude is too into himself and has a tendency to look past opponents and belittle other fighters. Of course he is going to hear ***** if he can't back up the crap he is talking. You make your bed then lay in it.

Part of me thinks Khan just needs to learn defence and then he'll be alright, but the guy has always struck me as someone who is not very intelligent in and out of the ring. You can tell just from a lot of the things he says, some of which have been absolutley ridiculous. He only knows how to box one way and after Garcia knocked him down, he had no idea what to do. He didn't even try to clinch and he always seems to drop his hands. Even when he's severely hurt. I think a new trainer could see him make something of a comeback and maybe be champion again. However, if he stays with Roach then I find it hard to see him winning another fight nevermind another world title. Now that people have seen what happened against Garcia, they are all just going to try to knock him out at all costs, and with a trainer that doesn't know the meaning of the words defence or clinch, I find it hard to see him fending them off and beating them.

Yeah he's a little chinny and not got great defense but why does that make people HATE him?

He also may be confident but if you actually LISTEN to him and not just read small quotes off Boxing Scene you''l hear he's very respectful and humble just like he's being in this article.
That's because Khan is full of himself, talked about Mayweather, said Brook was not on his level and then lost to Peterson and Garcia. It's one thing to be cocky when you're winning but when you're getting beat up and knocked out you need to come back down to earth.

I do hope Khan does leave Roach, I don't really care who his next trainer could be (Stewart, Roger or Folyd Sr., Atlas , or whomever). Quite frankly, I don't give a DAMMM!!! When Khan does leave Roach this will be the last time we boxing fans will see Khan fighting anywhere in the USA!!! Like a someone already said, a new trainer can't work out Khans bad habits (keeping you MF'n hands up when your throughing a punch for example). Khan should drop the "PRIMA DONA" attitude and stick with old fashion hardwork.

AMEN Khan, you hit the nail on the head. Go find a trainer who knows about infighting and defense techniques. Roach is a good trainer but as I have said several times, he teaches overwhelming offense, and when his fighters can't overwhelm someone, they look like ****. Taking nothing away from Roach, I am no fan of his but he is obviously a top notch trainer. I hate to sound ironic but Khan needs Floyd Mayweather Sr. Laugh if you want but it's true.

Kahn does not need a new trainer AT ALL!!!... He needs to focus, work harder and grow the F#CK up and stop being a whiney crybaby.

YOU LOST AMIR because Garcia is a better fighter that YOU....now regroup and get BUSY or RETIRE and SHUT UP!!!!

Khan doesn't need a new trainer or even an old one. What he actually needs is a new line of work and its called anything but boxing. And am I the only one that noticed that the ref actually gave Khan a very long count on the first knock down. It was like 16 seconds.
