Anybody could win a fight on any given day. The same wrestler and boxer could fight 6 times each winning 3 or whatever.

that is true depending on how pumped you are who lands the first punch wether you slip on something.Originally posted by bassing68Anybody could win a fight on any given day. The same wrestler and boxer could fight 6 times each winning 3 or whatever.
I mean my last wrestling tournament..i lost to someone i beat twice last year and i absolutely dominatinated teching him once(up by 6 or more points in a round) and by pin in the first round and he beat me this year by pin in the 2nd round. It all depends in a street fight and in wrestling theirs some big consiquences to **** up i mean i was winning and he tried to throw me and i ****ed up the counter and tripped.Comment

A good boxer would know how to throw his elbows and make sure things stayed upright.
What, none of you were ever in a fight in high school? Boxing-wrestling rivalries can get pretty intense. Let me say this, too, when things did go to the floor, I was generally stronger than the wrestlers. Plus, they'd complain that I was "breaking the rules. I don't know what they meant by that.Comment

I bet if roy jones (even at 35) trained one month in grappling he would destroy matt hughes and 99% of MMA fighters. The difference in athleticism between a boxer and most MMA fighters is massive. MMA fighters can barely go two 5 minute rounds without gasing out.Originally posted by blichtieThis thread might be better in the MMA forum, but I'm going to throw it out there anyway. The other day I had a discussion with one of my friends who was a golden glove champion in Texas. We were talking about who would win a fight between a boxer and a wrestler in a street fight. The ideal fight we came up with was Matt Hughes from the UFC and Roy Jones Jr. Both of them are about the same weight and are both highly respected in their sport. So I was just wanting to know everyone's opinion.Comment

so true. the level of conditioning would play a big part in it. ive seen plenty of mma guys with huge muscles but that dont mean **** when you cant even breathe after fighting for only 5-6 minutes.Originally posted by simeraksouThe difference in athleticism between a boxer and most MMA fighters is massive. This is like the 8th thread on the same topic I'm seeing since I joined...Originally posted by blichtieThis thread might be better in the MMA forum, but I'm going to throw it out there anyway. Bottom line - No Professional Boxer will not stand a chance against a professional MMArtist.
Boxer's are not used to kicks, nor can they protect themselves from being taken down.
Only chance a boxer would have is if that first shot would land and result in the KO. There is nothing else to discuss on thisComment
