The Anorak's Fight of the Year 2005...

... a pretty disappointing year when you consider everything (especially as I'm a heavyweight fan). But this is the fight of the year for me:

    Cotto vs. Torres.

Not much finesse I know, but a good, old-fashioned tear up with two big punchers nearly getting KOed repeated times. I love feints and jabs, but this was EXCITING.

The one that 99% of people will say is okay, but I knew the result before I saw the fight and gumshield spitting isn't really my bag.

I agree. Although there have been plenty of "big" fights this year, few have lived up to my expectations.

    Most noteably: Harrison-Williams
    Hopkins-Taylor
    Mayweather-Gatti

I didn't mind Mayweather Gatti in a way as it made Mayweather look good... but he can only carry on looking good against third-tier guys for so long...
