Do Freddie Roach fighters have shoddy defense?

I still don't understand why Roach doesn't tell them to use that in case of emergency only because that **** is terrible. Even when they're winning their fights they temporarily look like they're losing because of how weak they look using it (and Pacquiao, especially, is no physically weak fighter). Khan gets knocked the round the ring so even if he blocks the punches it doesn't achieve its full purpose because it still impresses the judges.

A Roach fighter's defense is basically his offense.

Pac has good defense, he knows how to use it really well. JCC on the other hand doesnt give a fcuk about defense.

Either way both of those guys can afford getting hit whereas Khan cant

Of course, he calls himself offensive coach and that's who he is, he was ofennsive fighter also, he doesn't seem to have good idea of how to teach fighters defensive moves.

Yeah, this could be a case of him not being able to teach what he doesn't know.
