Its not like that, you have to understand the business aspect of the sport, there are a lot of matches that I would love to see (including Guillermo vs Nonito which I believe can happen in the near future).

Top rank cant build up every fighter, all their resources are commited to a few in the stable, at this point they are not going to put everything behind Nonito and yet they took a risk with Mathebula.
Donaire's contract is almost up and in my opinion he will go to GB, Hopefully Arum sees potential in a fight with Guillermo before he leaves or else it will be harder to make.

Dude there is a video that was taken last summer of Arum saying he is not too big on Manny fighting Floyd because of Floyd's style. He then says that Chavez.jr has no reason to fight Sergio because Sergio can't sell tickets. Yes that came right out of Arums mouth. We knew Arum wasn't trying to make this fight happen. What Oscar and Floyd said was the truth about if Manny leaving Arum then the fight would have happened a long time ago. Look at all these robberies going around in TopRank and we rarely see fights we want to see over at TopRank even when the fighters ask for them but then turn around and says what? "Its up to my promoter".

I saw this interview a few days back. I'm not surprised at what Arum said nor am I surprised at the Floyd fans comments .....

If you read clearly, Arum said Chavez was NOT READY for Martinez ... For most boxing fans that would indicate that Chavez needed more maturing before he take on a fighter of Martinez's caliber ....


Similarly, Cotto vs Floyd didn't happen at 140 as Cotto was still maturing so that fight was prime once they both hit the WW .... but that is when Floyd fought Hatton then went on to his extended vacation #1.

Why its hard for Floyd fans to understand?

Well, of late, they have been so used to their hero Floyd taking on fighters who are NOT READY or TOO GREEN that they just can't comprehend why.


Case in point:
- Marquez: Was 2 fights away from jumping 3 divisions yet Floyd fans protected Floyd's move by saying, ".... but Marquez was #2 P4P"

- Hatton: Fought 1 time at WW then went back down to his career fighting weight because he looked very average in that 1 fight at WW. Floyd called him up to WW and his fans protected Floyd by saying, ".... but Hatton is bigger than Floyd" ..... ".... but Hatton didn't have to drain himself"

- Ortiz: Went life and death in his 1 fight at WW against a Berto that people here were criticizing on his weak resume .... Floyd fights this naive Ortiz while Floyd's fans protect him by saying that ".... but Ortiz is a WW champ"

- Sharmba: Had 1 fight at WW and was ready for Floyd .... While one can give Floyd a pass on this since it was Floyd's first fight at WW .... but Floyd took on a career 135-140 fighter at 147 as his first fight yet all these other guys had to face a guy who is a WW champ in Floyd.

- Khan: Rumor has it that Khan is Floyd's next fight. Threads have popped with Floyd fans giving the OK for this fight even though Khan has yet to fight at WW.


As for Manny vs Floyd ....
- It wasn't Arum who said "Manny must be taking PEDs to beat these big WW"
- It wasn't Arum who said "I'm going on another extended vacation"
- It wasn't Arum who said "Take the test and we have a fight"
- It wasn't Arum who said "Manny you are next .... I never said Manny is next"
- It wasn't Arum who said "I want ALL PPV money"
