Should boxing rings be a standardised size?

So that the ring is always the same size.

It makes a huge difference in fights if you are fighting Andre dirrell in a ring the size of a football field or marcos maidana in one the size of a phone booth

I think every fight should take place in a medium sized ring

Yep, makes complete sense. But the state boxing is in now gives more power to the promoters instead of making the sport more legit and concrete. Have one belt per weight division, have one size ring, have one size glove, have one set of rules for everyone.

The state Boxing is in now just breeds more corruption, its just terrible and I don't think it'll recover to be honest...its so entrenched in our sport. Sad to say...

The UFC have done a great job, they are setting the bar for how MMA should be and other promotions will follow.

The WBO/IBA/IBO/whateverbo are all just looking to leech of the sport, there should be one single title in each division because it gives it more importance. Look at the UFCs weight classes, the average MMA fan could tell you the name of each champion in each division in the UFC but could the average (NOT casual) fan tell you the name of each champ in each weight division? No because theres too many to count, the ring is corrupt as well biased...

Boxing has forgot that this sport is for THE FANS not for these lowlife degenerate promotors and organisations to line their pockets because of the sweat of hard working boxers and fans.

Yes I agree, but for me it should depend on the wieght class. Not a huge diference but smaller for lower wieght classes compare to haveir wieght classes

It should be one of the unified rules. A standard ring size would be fair for both fighters.

There should have to be a form filed explaining why a larger or smaller ring would be necessary than standard size.

wouldnt work because a single show would either have to have multiple rings or just have fighters from a single weight class.
                  nice idea otherwise though
