    Is Martinez too old???

The dude is 37 years old....in boxing terms he's an old man....

    or is he the exception???

I think Chavez got some things going for him...size, power, age....

El Gran Vaca de Dinero stops him EZ.

    Been saying this for years.

I expect my respect after the fight.

he hasn't been through too many wars and he started late by boxing standards, plus he's slick so he doesn't get hit cleanly too often... so no.

He's boxing young. He had a late start in boxing and only had like 40 fights as an amateur. He's peaking at an older age than your typical boxer.

He didn't look great against Macklin so I wonder.

The fight may be tougher than previously thought but I am going with Sergio. His style of fighting and movement do not lend to Jr.s fighting style. Jr.s best punch is the left hook to the body of course which the way Sergio leans forward with his hands down, Jr. won't be landing much of those. Also Sergio won't sit on the ropes and let Jr. **** him around. Jr. does have a good chin so far so we will see how it holds up when those overhand shots keep coming. If Cintron, Pavlik and Williams shots could not hurt or stop Sergio, I highly doubt Jr.s will. I could see the fight going to the cards actually and I would think Sergio would win on the cards but as we have seen you never know what judges are seeing. Remember, Jr. is an undefeated Arum cash cow so, and now with Pac basically out of the picture for Arum now for the most part, if this goes to decision, you may see a Jr. win. I think Jr.s mystique is a lot like Floyd's, the minute they lose, a lot of the interest (i.e. $$) will be lost. Sergio better make damn sure this does not go to the judges or he may be screwed. Sergio has mid fight lapses though so he better be prepared because Jr. will be coming relentlessly and try to bully him around the ring.

No, starting at an older age, and not having a large amount of amateurs fights is good for a late fighter in my point of view. Not as much damage done from amateurs like some and as long as he has the will to win!
