Arum expecting numbers to be from (400+-550k)

400k is a pretty good over under as I could see the reason for picking either side.
Really there has not been much to compare this fight with outside of Margarito/Cotto but some factors don't come into play in why those did so well for example even if JCC Jr. equals or surpasses Margarito in drawing power that doesn't cover the gap that exists between Cotto's and Martinez's drawing power.
I will say under a bit which would still be a very big success for two guys doing their first major PPV, if it did over 400k I wouldn't be shocked but that would be a huge success for all involved.Last edited by The Gambler1981; 07-11-2012, 02:34 PM.Comment

People are more inclined to buy ppv's now than ever. If they promote it right, which it looks like they will, this should be closer to 500K. Mexicans and Mexican Americans make up a very significant part of the market in buys and we'll be tuning in.
Goldenboy can still put a dent in this though. I'm inclined to think they're gonna pull out of the date but you never know.
Still waiting for a co-feature from the promoters though.Comment

Nothing to do with popularity. It is more that a lot of people can not pay HBO in this economy, plus there is plenty of places to watch online streams of the fights and HBO series, so why pay for the subscription?
I voted for under 400K. The Latin Fury cards that TR used to do, did horrible numbers and a little help from HBO wont change the mind of american audience.Comment

That's a lot... I think Cotto/Margo 2 only did about 600k. I think Chavez/Martinez will do good, but top off somewhere in the 500KComment

between 400k-500k is my guess..I'm gonna say it'll hit 475k which is a great number to sell for both of their first headlining PPV..Comment
