but i thought he was already booked up to fight rubio? isn't that fight signed and a done deal? not sure he can just scrap that fight and take golovkin like that. not if he signed a contract to fight rubio.
Not that i heard. 2 days ago it wasn't signed and they hadn't got a official offer yet. Rubio's team said when they did get an offer they were going to match Golden Boy cuz they wanted it in Mexico and with it not being a title eliminator their team sounded like it lacked incentive for them.

its not signed but it was gbp's decision. they have their own plans their own date set up, i honestly dont see why ppl are *****ing about this. quillin vs. rubio is a good fight. its not quillin or gbp's fault that pirog is a *****. i could see if the kid had nothing going, and gbp didnt have any plans for him, but u cant expect ppl to drop their plans like that.

thanks, yeah i guess it isn't signed, but with an opportunity quillin has to stage a big fight with rubio in mexico, that sounds like a plan. it is a shame that he won't fight golovkin over rubio, but it's expected with these promoters now a days. i hope golovkin is able to find a good opponent. you think n'jikam will step up? probably not right...the wbo should make that proposal. golovkin/n'jikam for the wbo belt. pirog would be the mando for the winner. that'd be amazing. a fight where three belts get unified.

quillin/rubio is a good fight, but golovkin/quillin is a better fight. i know what you mean though, rubio in mexico is a better fight financially than golovkin in the states and they're both solid opponents. either one is a good fight for quillin. golovkin deserves a tough opponent like quillin though, especially since it's being broadcasted by hbo.

oh i agree, i think golovkin deserves his coming out fight. but i just dont think that the blame is on quillin or gbp this time around. its not their responisbility to drop their plans, thats kinda unfair for fans to expect. im not even really a huge quillin fan or anything, i think golovkin would probably beat him and golovkin is prbably the more complete fighter with his amateur bacground etc. with that said, it is what it is. hopefully golovkin will fight a good dance partner.

HNN held the WBA Interm belt for almost two years, backed out of multiple fights with Golovkin and when the WBA finally demanded unification he gave up his belt rather than fight Gennady. I have a better chance of getting my **** ****** by Yulia Tymoshenko than Golovkin does at HNN signing to fight him.

some of you guys are just reaching............

peter is already being matched up with rubio, so why would gbp pull out of negotiations for golovkin?

most of the stuff is already agreed upon & only minor things are being ironed out @ this point. the rubio fight is practically already done...........

                this must be a joke..............

Among the names under consideration for Golovkin: Marco Antonio Rubio and Matthew Macklin

What a suprise. Golden Boy and Al Haymon going to protect him all the way to the top lol
Golovkin is a victim of his own punching power.

Martin Murray did well although against a poor Sturm GGG would win but its very thin now searching for an opponent.Wonder would Lara consider making the 6 lb jump
