I think I know why the WBC "mandated" Lara vs Vanes again. And this might answer BoxingGenius question as to what are they doing.

Remember how they dropped Lara from #1 to #3 and garfios posted an article about Lara where it mentioned how the WBC been sued before for screwing people over and Lara should do the same? Well I think the WBC "mandated" this bout again and the winner "gets a shot at Canelo" (which we all know won't happen) to keep these guys quiet. Especially Lara who was the one that got dropped in the rankings.

They did it because the wbc is working with golden boy to protect ginger. Boxing is business, sport somewhere down the line. The ginger can sell tickets so its imperative to keep him from a beatdown. Which is why he's the only fighter allowed to duck his entire division.
