Sweet Card HBO could do next year

    Next April, Little Rock, Arkansas:

Main Event - Jermain Taylor (WBC,WBO,WBA Middleweight Champion) vs Arthur Abraham (IBF Middleweight Champion)

Undercard - Winky Wright vs Felix Sturm

Use this card to set up and promote an August PPV featuring Taylor defending the undisputed championship against Winky Wright. Sort of like they did with Taylor-Hopkins 1.

I would probably root for Sturm to win it all. However, I think the rivalry between Sturm and Abraham calls for an immediate meeting.

i agree with this, plus i think it should be Wright/Abraham before Taylor/Abraham.. i really hope the media doesn't try to turn a class act that is Winky Wright into a "bad guy" just to make a Taylor-Wright matchup. It's ridiculous, all for the $$$.

I think Winky should be happy to take the boos in Arkansas. It would be the best thing for his career if he heard them more often, just not in a Ruiz way. If they want to make Taylor-Wright good guy vs. bad guy-then thats great because it increases the chances of seeing the fight. I do agree that they need to be on the same card ala Pacman-Morales in September. Hopefully Felix Sturm won't go Raheem on us

This would be a great move for boxing, now that Hopkins has been dethroned we need to get a new middlewight king. This will be the best way for us to find out who it is. I personally think Wright will take it all.

The only bad thing about Winky-Taylor is that if one dominates the other, there isn't a ton left in the division, at least name wise. Short of Lacy moving down, Oscar coming back at 160 (doubt it) or one of the Jr middlewights moving up(Vargas-doubt it too) there aren't a lof of PPV matchups out there for the winner right now. I guess if Winky wins he could try to lure Bernard back. Quartey, Sturm, and a few others will proved interesting fights, just not at the box office

Well there is always a chance it wouldn't go as planned, but both Winky and Taylor would be big betting favorites.

Plus it puts four legit guys in a mini middleweight tournament. Hell, they are probably the four most legit guys in the division.

Those are definitely two awesome fights, but I'd say the chances of that card being pulled off are slim. Those are two great fights that they could have on separate nights, making more money by selling more seats on two different nights. Look at the Hop-Taylor card in February. Taylor fought a stiff. Maybe they could do a Taylor Wright on the same card, but I doubt they'd be fighting competitive opponents, even though I'd love to see it. I can't think of a time two great fights similar to the one you just mentioned have been on the same card, regular or PPV, in the same weight division.

I agree that HBO isn't going to want to pay too much. Hell, they didn't want to pay Ike Quartey to fight Winky last night. We'd be lucky to get a credible opponent for Taylor. Karmazin would at least be a little interesting
