Comments Thread For: Eddie Chambers Hopes To Return Quickly After Rehab

Heavyweight contender Eddie Chambers will undergo surgery today (Monday) to repair a torn tendon suffered during his 12-round points loss to Tomasz Adamek last month.

The bout was Chamber’s first ring appearance in more than a year, a forced hiatus marred by injuries suffered in back-to-back training camps. Chambers had television fights scheduled with Tony Thompson and Siarhai Liakhovich, only for both to fall due to untimely injuries.

I believe a successful cruiserweight run might give his heavyweight career more of a boost than continuing to campaign as a heavyweight. He's just never going to be very exciting or dominant as a heavyweight due to his size and style, but as a cruiserweight he could make an impact.

Chambers will have problems to find another top-opponent. A fight against Chambers is a lose-lose situation for any Top10 heavyweight because he lost to Adamek and nobody would look good against him. Hes not easy to fight and only lost to Adamek because he was one-handed. I still had it a draw, the decision was crap. But he should go down to Cruiserweight. Adamek is no real HW too.
