I scored it 118-110 for Winky, Sam threw a lot, but landed hardly anything, an example being Sam threw 333 jabs and landed 10 = 3%. Just shows how good Winky's defense is.

I'm not biased and I scored it 117-111. I probably should have scored it 117-110 because the 10th round was very close to a 10-8 round.

i agree he did not land a high % of punches but he threw a million of them which will make the % look alot worst.....soliman made the fight he was the more active fighter, he was the agresor, and winky was not doing much..also i know you are supposed to score defense but its not like winky's defense is mayweather or toney like were they are counter punching...he just stands there with his hands up i don't know how you can score that in winky's favor ..

              My thoughts on this evening

I hadn't seen Taylor Hopkins 2. I really like Taylor and felt he won the first fight. I really dislike Bernard Hopkins. Needless to say, I was surprised by what I saw. I scored the fight 115-113 for Bernard Hopkins. I thought Hopkins won the first round (could have gone to either), the 5th and the 7th (another tough round to score). I thought Hopkins won the 8-9-10 rather easily. At this point I realized that Taylor needed the 11-12th to simply draw. Taylor had an excellent 11th but Hopkins had a pretty good 12th despite Taylor's flurry at the end. 115-113 and I was surprised as I assumed it was Hopkins apologists whining about the score. However, this was a tough fight to score so "robbery" is an awful choice of words.
I had the Winky fight 118-110 with Soliman taking the first, and 8th. BY the 5th round, WInky forgot to go to the body which would have led to a stoppage by the 7-8 had he gone that route. WInky even had to steal the 6th with a flurry. Winky got fed up in the 5th which I thought was a good sign but turned out not to be. His frustration led to punches getting through his seemingly impenetrable gloves. Soliman could win a minute of a round but its hard to win a total round when you give your opponent that many counterring opportunities. A lot of people are going to be down on Winky tonight. I wouldn't read much into it though. It's like Albert Pujols going against Tim Wakefield with his kunckleball. Its so different that you have to just chalk it up as the unfamiliar when they don't do as well as you think they should. Soliman looked like a garbage club fighter but I was impressed with his resolve. He had a good chin though, which was odd considering his brutal balance. Even though it would have been a 2 division difference, the kind of fighter who would have given Soliman fits would have been a Mickey Ward who relishes going to the body. WInky got away from the body where he could have scored all night long which was his weakness tonight. That said, this was a fight he just needed to get through. Wright-Taylor will be interesting with their arm lengths being 27' and both being jabbers

Shemnue, the problem is, to score for aggressiveness, it has to be EFFECTIVE.

I will not argue that Soliman made this fight interesting. I would love to see him in there against just about anyone. The only effect his aggressiveness had was that it made Winky fight more than he usually does (THANKS SAM!!!!). At times he was so overly aggressive that he made it too easy for Winky to land the much harder shots.

I thought about it being a 10-8 round as well but Soliman had a very strong last 30 seconds that prevented me from going with the two point round

                    Nope.

Throwing a million punches does not equal winning a fight. Did you see that statistics? Winky landed damn near 50% of what he threw while Soliman was about 15%.

And you have stated that you are a fan of Soliman. Perhaps it is you who is biased.
