Comments Thread For: Cuello To Fight For Vacant WBC Title With Ioka Vacating

I agree with this, but they're both young and likely to be at 108 and 112 in short order. If that fight is meant to be, it can happen later. If Ioka goes up (and he's likely to within a fight or two), he has either Porpramook (WBC) or Gonzalez (WBA) as the logical foes.
Given that he already had Sithsamerchai, Hernandez, and Yaegashi on the docket, he's doing plenty without Cuello. Cuello can build what demand can be built at those weights by beating some real top ten guys.
Yes, but way too high IMO. I don't rate him yet but he could be around 8-10. They somehow have him ahead of Yaegashi which is just head scratching.
They don't have Hernandez at all despite a DQ win over Cuello and a win over Fuentes right before he lost to Ioka.
Ring still hasn't removed Palacios, a mistake I also was making until someone pointed it out a couple weeks ago.Last edited by crold1; 07-01-2012, 10:48 AM.Comment

this is true..if both guys keep winning and looking good i can see a future fight happening at a higher weight.I agree with this, but they're both young and likely to be at 108 and 112 in short order. A bit dissapointing but Ioka should go ahead upto JRF now, maybe Cuello/Yaegashi next year for another unification
I've only seen a handful of Denvers fights but he looks like a tough matchup for anyoneComment

Because he's not fighting him after Yaegashi..... ergo he's dodging him.
What I think, if a fighter doesn't fight a person the fans want immediately.... they are a ducker/scardey cat.
This appears to be the boxing fan mentalityComment

i guess...weak reasoning, considering cuello hasnt done much to warrant the accuastions. sure the kid is a very big puncher, which is exciting. but let him fight someone first.Comment

WEll, they can call Ioka a dodger all they want.... he'll move up and if Cuello wants some he can get some.Comment

I don't get the "duck" claims, either. Ioka already owns wins over two better fighters than Cuello (and in just 10 pro fights), who hasn't done anything other than claim to be ducked.Comment
