K9 is strong and has a heavy right but other than that he's limited holds/grapples far more than he punches and would serve as a showcase for Canelo

I give K9 full credit for beating Spinks in KO fashion at 39 years old. Take away the fact that he is 39, acknowledge the fact that Spinks has no pop and has been on the slide for years and suddenly its not so impressive. Very average fighter, an overachiever if u like. Still Heavy right hand puncher who could hurt who he can hit i feel. Alvarez takes him apart and stops him though. Different class of fighter and K9 is made for him.....
Crap fight if im honest but given that Bundrage has a belt i wouldnt hold it against Saul for taking it at all

That was one of the most terrible fights I have ever seen, what a stinker! Too bad they both couldn't have lost lol. I have been to amateur toughman contests where the skill level was better. I was embarassed to even be watching that. Spinks has always been overrated and has a tiny bit of skill...but Bundrage has absolutely none. It was like watching a professional bodybuilder throw haymakers, just terrible. Bundrage needs to just go away, along with Spinks. Let the real quality fighters in the division mix it up instead. Why was that crap the main event? Unreal.

Bundrage is wild with that Mayorga-ish awkward punch. With that Berto-ish roided up body (not saying K-9 ruff ruff ruff is using anything), I think he can easily be beat. I want to see Bundrage vs Kirkland. That fight won't last 5 rds.

The Racket Squad: Canelo Avoids Disaster- Again!
Spinks/ Bundrage was one of the worst Showtime Prime time main events in the networks history.
Whomever decided that this was worthy of airing must have planned ahead of time to attempt and secure K9 the Alvarez slot if Ortiz faltered.
Well, Victor faltered.
And so it appears that on the night Chavez Jr. will meet the 3rd P4P best, Showtime will place another aged fighter in the path of a young hurricane.
It is hardly worth the effort.
The outcome is a certainty, even in the theater of the unexpected and has urged me to joyously spend the required 60 bucks on a anticipated and possibly great clash to block out any knowledge of Saul's date with dull.
In the end the Ginger Boy managed through fate to avoid Paul Williams, the always dangerous Kirkland and Ortiz.
Lara who displayed his wares last night on the same card that the main event stunk out, would have been the next realistic candidate.
If Canelo was serious about taking an actual chance at breaking through to fans who have yet to find him credible, this was a lost opportunity.
Now, due to greed and the intention of cashing in on Mexican Independence day in any form possible, the prospect of real competition for Alavarez on the 15th is non existant.
Shame on Showtime, Golden Boy and more than anyone, Saul Alvarez.

This fight was supposed to be a card featuring Paul Williams vs. James Kirkland as the headliner, Seth Mitchell, Gary Russell Jr. and Anthony Peterson in Washington DC. But Golden Boy scrapped the event because of the DC Boxing Commission's failure to take action against Lamont Peterson's positive drug test. Plus Kirkland's shoulder injury prevented a 6/30 fight date.
So Golden Boy bid on the K9 vs. Spinks fight which was originally scheduled for August and moved this fight to California for a 6/30 date with a card featuring Russell Jr. and later on Erislandy Lara.
While I agree that it was a shit headliner, it's not completely Golden Boy and ShowTime's fault.
