But Barkley was considered washed up when he fought Benn, let alone when he fought Toney!

I'm partial to Toney's c-cup fights, though it's fun to back and see him in his developing training bra stage. I'm tellin' ya, a fight with Gerald Nobles would create a whole new fan base for boxing!

I don't think Barkley was all that washed up. After all, he had his moments against Toney and captured a decision over Hearns in their second fight. One thing can not be denied, and that's that Benn destroyed him, although Barkley nailed Benn in that first round with a couple of good punches.

Yeah but Hearns in 1992 was pretty damn past his best

Barkley was washed up before he fought Benn, let alone when he fought ****ing Toney! I think the Olijade fight, Hearns first fight and Duran fight took a lot out of Barkley, he was at his best around 85-86 when he KO'd Scypion (that only Hagler had managed previously) and beat a lot of very good fighters like Tinley and Kinchen who were on the brink of world title shots. Olajide was his best win because Olajide was such a great prospect, he took a beating from Hearns so that can't really rank as his best win.

Its funny because he'll likely become the Heavyweight champion of the world but Toney just never dared to be great after the loss to Jones. Who knows what would have happened had he came into that pre-fight camp in shape and not having to fast like Hakeem Olajuwon. I guess he probably loses to Jones anyways but Toney should have given himself a better chance

None of those guys - Benn, Barkley, Eubank, Collins, Hearns, McCallum or any of those other mother-****ers can do what Toney is doing at heavyweight today.

None of them were undisciplined to the point where they HAD to move to heavyweight. They made weight.

James is doing well, but then again the divison is a giant festering turd right now.

I really wish Toney and Tarver would mix it up after Tarver establishes that he can handle being 205 or so. There is no defending Toney's non-discipline when it comes to weight. That said, if he were a cruiserweight he'd be cleaning up that division too. I hope he gets the chance to at least fight Klitschko, Byrd, and Rahman otherwise Toney's legacy as a HW is muddled due to the competition

You make it seem as if none of them would want to make heavyweight money.

Anybody would like to make heavyweight money. I won't argue that at all.

James shot up to cruiser, then heavy out of necessity because he can't control that piehole from eating everything in sight. Everything else was secondary.

He's a great fighter, but just a jagoff and fat slob. And I don't care for him.
