According to manager and promoter Vladimir Hryunov, WBA "regular" heavyweight champion Alexander Povetkin (24-0, 16KOs) may possibly return on July 21 in Moscow, Russia. Povetkin was going to face mandatory challenger Hasim Rahman on July 14th in Hamburg, but the event was canceled when Rahman withdrew with a training injury.

Pov should give Holyfield a shot. Holyfield would take the fight. He already tried to make it happen last yr and he is ready today. Heck, Holyfield is just as good; if not better than Rahman. In my opinion, win, lose or draw... Holyfield would retire afterwards. It's a win-win for both fighters and fans. This gives
Pov a chance to remain active and to find someone to fight in less than a month. Holyfield would land one last fight against a current Heavyweight Champ before he calls it quits. I'm not convinced Rahman wanted it with Pov anyway. He was just trying to keep his name in the boxing news.
Holyfield will fight any current HW Champion even if he takes a L.
