Actually, if Devon beat Bailey & looks good doing it, I wouldn't mind that fight in december at all. He looked fabulous in his 1 welterweight fight so far. He seemed stronger & overall a lot better than he did before.

I'd love for Floyd to give him a shot. Alexander was always a better fighter than we like to give him credit for.

Devon does have a decent fan-base, that is when he's fighting in STL. But I doubt Floyd would fight on Devon's home turf. I think he needs one more fight at 147 before he's in the Mayweather sweepstakes.

Making a fight just to campare numbers with another fighter doesn't sound like a good reason to me. Devon fights Bailey for the tittle on September 8th so if he wins it would be champion against champion which is always good. 11 weeks would not be much time for Devon to get ready for Floyd and for Golden Boy to promote it.

Dude canelo has a big fan base larold. What's wrong with my thread it's better than your ****ty name a fighter who has quit that is Latin and lives in Ventura ca that fights at WW and whose initials are vo
it doesn't matter about how many PPV headlines he has he can be on HBO and pull huge numbers. That's called exposure. That leads to people wanting to see him fight.

I agree that Alexander would be a good fight, he's got some very impressive names on his CV, will probably have a title belt by then, has a backstory that the general public are intrigued by(how many fighters are featured in the Washington Post?) which could be exploited in 24/7 and he may even be able to draw people from the Lou to help fill the arena. American, young and well spokenish.

                    He'd make a solid B side.
