Please break this down and explain it to me.cause i can see a situation like Bowe-Lewis where he threw his belt in the garbage to avoid Lewis

sure there are fights we all wanna see but there are reasons behind the scenes certain fights may not have happened.............so if a fight doesnt happen you really wanna see does that automatically mean someone is ducking? -
-- If you like a fighter, he's not ducking. If you don't like a fighter, he's ducking.
-- If it involves Bob Arum, it's his fault.
-- If it involves Alex Ariza, it's steroids.
-- If it involves Floyd, Leonard Ellerbe is [you know what].

if you avoid fighting the best you are ducking them, obviously there can be exceptions. more money for another fight, poor timing due to an injury or a recent fight, a mandatroty defense of your belt, the other guy doesnt want it himself etc..
madatorys are far from always worthy of a title shot and very rarely the toughest guy out there. look at ward turning down his mandatory against the talented but untested anthony dirrell to fight chad dawson. its not like hes ducking anthony when hes fighting a much more proven oponent, if anything taking teh mandatory would be a duck (even though avoiding being stripped is like mentioned a valid excuse).Comment

After Mosley/Vargas II, Shane had fought 3 times in 10 months. Elite fighters, as Shane was at the time, rarely do that. Instead of fighting Floyd on a fall HBO date, he wanted to rest and take a vacation with his family.
The same Shane who always fought the best, even when it wasn't a good style match-up (e.g. Forrest, Winky).
Very intelligent and informed post there.Comment
