HBO pays more. It's simple as that. Donaire isn't getting the same 750k paydays on Showtime that he has gotten in HBO.

Showtime built up it's rep with Ken Hershman but under Stephen Espinoza it's starting to become bais. the subtle Golden Boy nuthugging, they'll lose all that good will with the fans soon enough.

Arum is the dirtiest player in the game but that doesn't make Golden Boy innocent either. GBP is just as dirty, it's just they aren't on Arum's level when it comes to being a 2 faced weasel.

So basically, Arum "don't mind" a Mares-Donaire fight as long as Top Rank calls the shots and the fight only happens on HBO, knowing Mares has a contract with Showtime.

Didn't he pretty much say the same thing about Pac-Mayweather? He "don't mind" working with Mayweather to make the fight happen as long as Top Rank calls the shots and Golden Boy isn't involved, knowing Floyd and Golden Boy are partners and have been since 2007?

This isn't about a potential fight between Donaire and Mares.

This is Arum's way of backhanding Espinoza, GBP, and Haymon. Arum has all the worst traits; and he consistently and constantly has to display them. He insults people until they don't want to do business with him so then he can say "they don't want the fight". He doesn't want to do a Donaire-Mares fight when he can do Donaire-Nishioka and Donaire-Arce after that.

Well that's rather subjective Bob. Because for the last few years, Showtime has been the Alpha network for the fight game.

If we're talking SS, great boxing cards and MMA cards, I'll take Showtime as the premeire network lately.

Yeah Mares fighting on Showtime is the real reason this fight won't happen. Their is nobody more full of s**t then Bob Arum.GBP put on a pretty good good card on Showtime Last week. Where on the other hand Top Ranks card on HBO has Pavlik and Donaire on the card and we all know they are going to win.The old man just keeps talking and never shuts the f**k up.
