did someone really say gus johnson?? good god no. gus is ok with basketball and even mma but i cannot listen to him talk boxing. he knows nothing about the sport the only thing he does is talk stats and yells annoyingly loud to give himself a reason to be there. i like bernstein though. and tarver/ roy is my favorite.

Tarver and Roy do a great job as well.

Colonel Bob Sheridan, Al Bernstein & Teddy Atlas

Colonel Bob Sheridan in my opinion is the ultimate broadcaster and Al Bernstein has a wealth of knowledge of the sport. Hes been around boxing much longer than Lampley. Teddy Atlas has great analytical skills before and during fights and he gets very passionate at times.

teddy atlas is the best in the business. its nice to get actual explanations as to what is happening and insight into the nuances of the sport in general. his knowledge base is second to none when it comes to boxing.

Gus Johnson is the worst ***ing color man i have ever heard. He knows nothing about the sport, is bias, and always yells and claims people are hurt for dramatic effect even though they aren't.

RJJ can be quite bias at times too.

Bernstein and Tarver are the most objective, articulate, and knowledgable.

I used to like steve Albert. I don't know what happen to him though. Another pick of mine would be Goerge Foreman. I remember James Brown doing some fights before that would be a good cast right there.

HBO commentators have become a bit bland, if the fight isn't a barburner or the main event Lampley and Steward go on about bull$hit while ignoring the fight going on in front of them.

I honestly feel that Gus Johnson does a great job not just calling the fights but his excitement adds to the telecast and to the viewers excitement.

Merchant still does it best because it's not his job to do the play by play but he adds great insight and subtle things that are often missed. Kellerman tries his best but he's just doing a bad imitation of Merchant imo.

I have to agree. HBO's guys just seem bored to be there almost whereas Showtime's guys seem to actually be having fun and enjoying themselves.

But for fun I'l say Roger Mayweather and Naazim Richardson. It's the perfect combo.
