Oscar does it again: big news = garbage

    Dan Rafael ‏@danrafaelespn
Told that @caneloOficial's 9/15 fight will be on @SHOsports, not PPV (or CBS, which I never believed anyway). Likely facing Trout

Once again the big news Oscar promised is nothing but garbage. So the event that should have turned Canelo into a star is now a crappy little fight on a network no one watches.

This of course comes off Oscars last tweet about big news that would rock the boxing world: "I haven't drank in a while."

    Oscar's tweet:
    Oscar De La Hoya ‏@OscarDeLaHoya

Canelo is fighting September 15 at the MGM @GoldenBoyBoxing Let me just say it will be huge for boxing on the plans we have for Saul.

Yup, this is the big plan he had for Saul. He'd be better off fighting in a back room with the lights off than trying to build stardom on Showtime.

Why would anyone expect any actual big news out of Oscar?

Trout isn't that bad of a fight but it's a letdown considering Canelo was trying to line up a fight with Williams, Kirkland, or Ortiz.

Trout doesn't exactly have a pleasing style, this might be a snorefest

I know Oscar isn't the sharpest tool in the shed, but here's a little tip:

When the best damn middleweight god ever made is hosting a retirement party for Sergio Martinez, don't schedule your event on the same night.

            Swallow your pride. Move.

TS, Im confused. What big Oscar news are you talking about? The big Oscar news I last heard about was a few weeks ago and at that time Canelo had other fights scheduled so it wouldnt have been about him announcing the Trout fight. This just sounds like something he's just letting people know about.

I also never agreed with those who said Oscar's last big news tweet was about being sober. I think it was about the CBS deal but he just didnt say it right away because it had already been leaked. I think it was CBS, not sober

The last big news from Oscar was that the pictures were real.

                    Update from Dan:
                    danrafaelespn Dan Rafael
Regarding next for @caneloOficial, Richard Schaefer tells me this evening: 'It won't be Trout and it won't be Showtime.' The plot thickens.

I think they're screwing with our heads.

So if not Showtime: CBS, HBO, or PPV? Canelo on the Sergio-Chavez undercard?
