"we'll sell it out!" - innappropriate comment from Espinoza. Shows he is still a Golden Boy Employee.

I know everyone thinks he is more of a puss now but a broke jaw does not sound like fun to me especially in a fight where you are getting hit a lot.

lopez has a beautiful left uppercut too

Ortiz will exercise the rematch clause asap. He'll get his revenge.

Ortiz has shown how vulnerable he is to the right hand since the Maidana fight. I remember kellerman pointing it out that Maidana could not miss with it.

In all reality, Ortiz should just quit fighting & go model underwear. That way solid posters on boxingscene won't wish broken jaws on better fighters just to bash Ortiz, that is all.

If Ortiz' jaw is broken hes on the shelf for 6 months. Stick Lopez in there with Paulie in Sept. If Lopez can be ready by then.

Early on in the fight I thought Lopez's uppercut was going to be a big deciding factor in the fight.

but @ ur sig, Ortiz was the 6.5 to 1 favorite...

I don't agree. Ortiz was boxing good and was hurting Lopez on several occasions. Ortiz problem is that he relies on his punching power a lot more than his other attributes. He could have won it but should have paced himself a lil more and took less punishment by displaying more head movement and defense. Ortiz jab was looking very sharp. He just gave Lopez too many openings to counter. I think Lopez stops him in the rematch again. This reminds me of Salido/Lopez when one fighter just has the other one number. In round 7 I saw Lopez take Ortiz's heart when he told him to come on after Ortiz was giving his best.

I love gameness, its the essence of LIFE !!!!!

The gamest men are not those in the ring necessarily but those on the battle field with bullets whizzing by and in hand to hand combat and fighting on not running away, wouldn't you say ?????

By the way there is NOTHING gamer than a good bulldog that scoffs at death.

All that said, there are two fights that Ortiz needs to do and win:

HE needs to have the rematch with LOPEZ and just Knock him out

Then the next fight he needs to fight Maidana and Knock him out

I can't know a mans mind, but I can think about a broken jaw, with the bone torn thru the flesh dumping a deep red thick blood nearly blue blood and then getting hit on that same spot and break gets much worse and the blood flow gets much worse, choking on yer blood.

Dogs don't think about such stuff

Men do to fight another day

IF I were a betting man I would bet that everyone of you that have been critcal towards ORTIZ would QUIT in a heartbeat if your jaw was broke,

I agree with everything you said except Lopez winning the rematch. I think Ortiz definitely took Lopez for granted and figured he could just go in there and muscle him up. I think Ortiz trains his @$$ off and finishes Lopez in the rematch. The Berto Ortiz shows up in that fight. Redemption for sure.
