At first i was thinking, "Why the hell would Bob Arum give Golden Boy an opponent for Canelo seeing how they're fighting over the September 15 date?" Then I realized it's the perfect strategy. Nobody gives a damn about Vanes. There would be zero interest in that fight so everybody would tune in to watch Chavez-Martinez. And Bob Arum can pretend he did something for Vane's career at the same time.
