I dont get Victor Ortiz's LACK OF RESILIENCE...

Professional prize fighters have often been described as a different breed from other athletes. Most of them grow up in horrible conditions hence why they fight for money. They can draw extra strength, motivation, determination, & the corresponding pain tolerance upon on their tough childhoods.

Ortiz back story certainly fits that profile yet why is he so mentally weak? I have always found that odd.

Does ortiz just have such a low pain tolerance or was his back story a little embellished?

He looked bad after the fight. I don't know bout anyone else but damn it was like the dentist had shot him up with novocaine the way he was after the fight. But I also can tell he's got a nervous laugh, makes jokes and laughs at them in the most serious of situations. The postfight conference with Mayweather, then the postfight interview with this past fight. Kinda strange.

A broken jaw is a broken jaw. Boxing fans are some of the silliest set of pricks I have encountered if I am going to be truthful, in no other sport would people expect a participant to continue with a broken jaw yet in boxing, a sport where that that region will be targeted, people expect the fighter to shrug it off.

It is not a lack of resilience, truth be told he ate some big shots throughout the fight that would give a quitter the opportunity to pack it in, fighting with a broken jaw goes passed the expectation of a fighter.

First of all he HATES getting hit, yet gets hit a lot

Then he just panics and gets emotional when the going gets tough
