Plus Showtime is part of the CBS conglomerate so I am sure those talks have taken place.
Arum would be crapping his old man undies if his PPV had to go up against a network backed event with Canelo.

Cotto's best move is to bid both companies against each other and force them to bend. He is the only name that will save GBP's event. Even if he has no real intent on fighting, he should become a business man and let them believe he will. The promotional company war will go to whatever lengths possible as to not let the other get the upper edge. Who benefits? Cotto and the fans.

On another note, Canelo has far outgrown that little boy from 2 years ago when he fought Cotto's big brother. So Cotto is not gonna pound him down like many think. Canelo has a chance to upset Cotto. It would be an interesting matchup for sure. Martinez and Chavez are way to big for Cotto, so feeding him the winner does nothing unless there is boat loads of money thrown his way.

Oh ok. That's what I get for listening to Arum.

I really hope Golden Boy decides to move this date. I like Canelo and everything, but if Chavez-Martinez happens on the same date there's no way in hell I'm going to miss it. That fight has bee building up since Chavez got Martinez' belt.

Canelo vs no hoper is going to flop. Only fight that has a chance to beat out Chavez-Martinez is Canelo-Cotto and that's not gonna happen in September.

I typically like GB but they are being ****** with their insistance on fighting 9/15. They must realize they are gonna lose money going up against the Martinez/Chavez Jr card.

On another note, I like the whole CBS tv idea. Boxing has needed to be on primetime television for years now. Also, I like how Canelo is getting forced to fight the top competition w/ all these opponents falling out. Pisses me off that they don't mention Lara or Molina though. Trout is a decent option because of his belt. Not too interested in a Quintana bout. Pretty sure thats the route they'll go :/

I really hate that Espinosa is now in charge of Showtime. If it was anyone else, they would have been smart enough to change the date by now. This is just silly now.

                    Forget Lara.
Too smart for Canelo at this stage.
I doubt if he is the PPV 'big' name being touted.

If CBS is serious then go with Trout.
It will be a short night though and commercials make those Networks turn.

It's a no win when the Ortiz ball was dropped bigtime.
Martinez /Chavez will outdraw any free TV.

The only "very, very big PPV" option is Miguel Cotto.

That happens to be the only possible fight to force Top Rank to move Martinez-Chavez too.

If it's either Quintana or Trout, moving the fight off of PPV is a wise decision. Moving the fight off the date would be even better, but Arum is such a **** that GBP would leave it just to hit him where it hurts and not take the perceived loss.
