Well if he wants to fight cans in Mexico that's up to him, shame on his promoter for trying to get him meaningful fights. I like DeMarco but can't see why he wouldn't fight Molina.

This could get messy with Demarco and Shaw.Although Tony did want to fight in front off his hometown i can totally understand where Shaw is coming from so many upsets this year and with a date with HBO locked in no point risking it

Tonio wants to stay active and fight in his hometown, aint no shame in that. I think this will be resolved with compromise in the end. Let DeMarco have his hometown coming, he'll win.

i agree but what happens if he ends up getting cut or some type of injury that postpones the molina fight? he loses his chance to defend his title against a top 10 LW on a big network like HBO. i think he should take some time to think it over, probably make plans to leave shaw asap, but ultimately decide to go through with the molina fight.

I can see Shaw's point of view in regards to taking a chance on Demarco being cut or being injured in some way but that's just a chance he would have to take. Molina fought last night in Studio City and I didn't hear or see any kind of negative input from his promoter Dan Goosen, Gary Shaw is being selfish on his part. Demarco was scheduled this fight in Rosarito, Mexico before the fight with Molina was planned out, if Demarco wants to fight in front of his fans in Mexico let him go through with it, Demarco should have the last word on this. I just hope the fight with Molina remains as scheduled otherwise it would be a big dissapointment for us boxing fans !!

yeah and even for demarco. instead of skipping out on one defense, he'd make it two. that's def not good. i hope he really thinks it through and goes ahead with this molina fight. i was pumped when it was announced.
