The way Collins systematically took apart Nigel Benn twice was impressive. after seeing Benns shots bounce off him im sure Roy had to think twice about sharing a ring with that beast.

Collins went 12 rounds with a prime Mike Mccallum after just 16 fights and Mccallum quickly let it be known that no ammount of money would entice him back into a ring with Collins again!

              1) Benn was past his best when he lost to Collins. He was not the same guy after McClellan.

              2) If you're implying McCallum was scared of Collins, you are a fool. McCallum owned Collins and Roy would have done the same.

Collins is a legend...in your mind.

Well Mccallum did describe Collins as "the hardest man I ever faced" and I saw it as his toughest fight because Collins forced him to dig deep and really work for it. I dont think Roy could of beaten a prime Mccallum just based on how close their actual fight was when Mccallum was a few weeks shy of his 40th birthday.

Collins was impressive in the second fight with Chris Eubanks where he had a good team and a good prep program for it and good game plan. I thought it was impressive. from the very start he hit Eubanks to the sides with his full force. hit the sides of Eubanks body hard from the start so that Eubanks would be worn away by the second half of the fight and it worked. he retired Chris Eubanks finished him.

Collins is no legend though because he lacked the glamour.

McCallum was also older when he fought Collins, making it a tougher fight for Mike than it would have been in his prime. But, McCallum was unusual in that he was very godo even when he was older so I believe him if he says that Collins pushed him to the limit. But Roy is different and doesn't get hit nearly as much as Mike. Styles make fights. If you feel Mike would beat Roy prime for prime, I disagree, but I respect your opinion because Mike is one of the best of all time. But Collins came up short. The reason he is no legend is because he had a short career, and the few key bouts he had didn't allow him to fully prove himself.

Basically, the overall point is, while Collins was a good fighter, he's nothing so specal that anyone should be saying he would beat Roy in his prime.

Collins vs Jackson, Calzaghe, Green...tose are more fair.

Green hmm. I think Collins would walk right through Green. I think Calzaghe would be too sharp for Collins. Id give him a better chance against Roy than Calzaghe because Calzaghe can fight inside well. Watching Hatton against Tszyu you see the camera on Collins smiling as Hatton is in the ring after his entrance. Hatton beating Tszyu proves nothing is impossible. Its weird. Roy has never been in the trenches so we dont know what hes like there. Who knows. Maybe Collins would of caused the upset with his durability and workrate and toughness etc.

Idiot. Eddie Futch learnt him everything he knew.
