Look, the WBC is afraid to have Adonis Stevenson listed as Champion.

2) Noe Gonzalez (Uruguay)
3) Nikola Sjekloca (Montenegro)
4) Edwin Rodriguez (Dom. R.)

Adonis Stevenson was far in the ranking.
He got a shot with number 2 Noe Gonzalez.

Andre Ward was hurt in his right hand.
Finally Andre Ward & Anthony Dirrell, refused to fight each other.

One week before the Stevenson/Gonzalez fight, the WBC stripped the belt from Ward hands and decided to put the title vacant.
By proceeding with this move, Anthony Dirrell have been automatically setup to confront the 3rd contender, easy Nikola Sjekloca.

Anyway, Stevenson destroyed the 2nd contender Noe Gonzalez, and he picked the WBC Silver belt.
But instead of winning the 2nd position, they put Stevenson in the 3rd position; and without any effort from Sjekloca, the WBC put this last one 2nd.

Bad news, Anthony Dirrell got hurt in a motocycle accident; if it's not a cancer relapse.
So obviously, Sjekloca went from 2nd to the 1st position and Stevenson moved up to the 2nd.
Logically, due to Dirrell injuries, the WBC were suppose to setup a fight between Sjekloca and Stevenson for the vacant WBC title...

The WBC wanted an American champion, not a Canadian; so they did everything they could to give back the Belt to Ward.

► And - And - And - And it don't stop )))

Ward played with Dawson pride, and Dawson shouted publically, he'll take a fight against fox Ward by draining his muscular mass to 168Lbs...

*Anyhow, Adonis still can't take this Belt, and YES Ward is also afraid of Stevenson...

Not really. He wanted a catchweight so that means Ward belts wouldn't had been on the line.

Both fighters deserve props for this fight. Dawson for going down to SMW to fight one of elite P4P fighters and Ward taking on the challenge of fighting another elite P4Per especially after he was criticized for not taking the Bute fight right after the Super Six ended.

HBO won getting this fight btw, I feel bad for Showtime

Not hard to do when you get every single advantage...

Not going to happen.

Already happened to Dawson before. And someone mentioned Bradley-Alexander which is a pretty good comparison as well. You can't dismiss it as a possibility.
