The Irish like boxing too, not sure how many are in the US but surely they would watch him for a title fight, but yeah Chavez has his dad's name so... Mexican's will follow him.

Don't forget two big name trainers, which might help LOL.

That is really good but it was on a night with no NBA Finals game and on HBO meaning your not paying for a PPV.

          Still good though

His numbers have been building nicely over time. This fight pushed the envelope namely because he was actually stepping up and it was interesting match up. HBO is perfectly capable of getting these kinds of numbers when they stop putting so many unworthy fights on PPV. For example Morales-Maidana and Hopkins-Dawson 1 would have done over 2 million viewers but instead they stuck them on PPV.

yea but keep in mind delahoya and tyson did a Million buys several time in an era when 50% of homes had the black cable box. I bet the real numbers of those PPV's if you added the people who watched it on the black box were closer to 3-4 million.

So @jcchavezjr1 did his highest rating + most viewers ever Saturday. Dont have final numbers yet, but he did 1.88 m in Feb. Probably 2+ m

I cant remember the other source but it said Pacquiao/Bradley just cracked a million and did just a handful more than a million it looks like.
Looks like Floyd will be replaced as PPV king with in a year

Bear in mind that the JCC/ALee was preceded by the Paqcioa/Bradley replay.

So? When has what aired before it ever boosted boxing ratings? Hell they should have just stuck Canelo on after Game of Thrones if that were the case.
