  • Ioka vs Yaegashi ... on a Wednesday?

This might be one of the biggest fights in Japan's history, and they have it on a Wednesday?

Is anyone familiar with the culture and why they do it that way? I've seen this done before in Asian countries, but could never figure out why?

I know they've always done it, but why? Wouldn't they make more money if they held it on a Saturday?

Kakutougi fans in Japan are a small enough group and will show up whenever. They are pretty hardcore if they are putting their time into going to events or watching them. In Japan everything is about TV ratings (which is pretty ****** but it's how it is) and whenever they can get the time schedule they take it.

If you can get more sponsorship money and advertizing for a tuesday, you'd take it over nothing on a Saturday.

Not bothered about it being on a Wednesday.

Plenty of big fights used to happen during a working week years ago.

Makes me remember how Pacquiao-Bradley wouldnt start until the Heat Celtics game ended. Is it because there was an asian boxer in the vent, or is it the same here in America?

Watch how no big event is done on the same day as the Superbowl.
